Once you created a youtube channel and a Google AdSense account, you can link those two.

There are four types of video ads format on YouTube:

1.Skippable video ads

These ads make the viewer watch 5 seconds of the ad before being able to skip it.

2. Non-skippable video ads

These ads make viewers watch them from start to finish. In other words, they cannot be skipped.

3. Bumper ads

These are short advertisements up to 6 seconds long that appear at the beginning of a YouTube video and can’t be skipped.

4. Overlay ads

These are image or text ads shown in the lower 20% of the video. It is only for viewing on the desktop.

Even though many formats of ads can make you money, you have to have specific traffic to be eligible for YouTube ad revenue. Since 2018, a YouTube channel has to have a minimum of 1000 subscribers and 4000 hour watch time in the last 12 months to be eligible for ad revenue.
